Service:
TDC is an excellent seller to work with as trying to navigate this growing industry with zero experience and knowledge is extremely unwise; overseas customer service nightmares and sometimes straight up scams are far from uncommon stories to hear. I personally came in to this completely blind and dumb, but The Doll Channel were great at getting answers to questions and being a liaison between me and the factory (even though Piper itself does have a relatively good reputation). I should add that they even dealt with the added complexity from the fact that I was ordering from Canada instead of the US. The surrounding community of doll owners in the growing forums and other social media based around TDC were also a great source of knowledge and first hand advice. I have nothing negative to say about their services.
The doll:
I am admittedly going to be a seriously biased source, I had never even had the thought of buying a doll cross my mind until I came upon the Piper line of dolls a few weeks ago. The western style dolls that I had in my mind as being what sex dolls looked like never particularly interested me, but I was instantly taken with most of the Piper Doll models. There is something about what I suppose is a mix of asian and western aesthetic that just makes Mizuwali’s work extremely appealing; it isn’t quite an anime aesthetic, and it isn’t quite perfectly realistic either, it’s an artistic blend that just comes out with incredible looking feminine faces and bodies that is hard to describe. I just love it, and especially this original ‘version’ of Phoebe. I prefer the more subtle looking elf ears on this design, not that I have anything against the larger ones which are becoming more common in the doll world, I just feel it works really good on this design. A blend of youthful… cuteness? and a bit of more mature seductiveness in the shadowed eyes and body shape, it just is stunning. The doll I received was indeed fairly close to the photoshoot portrays though not exactly (not in a way I have any issues with though).
As for specifics, the flight case I got was very sturdy and seemed to be a good safe packaging. The case did have a VERY noticeable unpleasant factory solvent smell for the first few days I had it in my house, it has since dissipated. The doll itself has a very slight TPE odor, though it is far less unpleasant and isn’t off-putting and I suspect it will go away or at least diminish over time with cleaning. Despite the extreme packaging and sturdy flight case, she did come with a slight crease on the outside of the right leg, but there is little that can be done by anyone to prevent customs or UPS or whoever from causing that kind of thing. I love her anyway, slight imperfection and all, that’s all I can nitpick. The weight and size are ideal for me, I have a fairly substantial medical disability and side effects of medications leave me with several side effects like osteoporosis that, while not completely crippling, do make me have to be cautious about that kind of thing. The size is large enough that it’s not too weird for me, small enough that I can actually fit her case into the limited free space I have, heavy enough for something approaching a realistic sense of weight during use, but light enough that I can still move her. It’s a great doll. Only if you were looking for something perfectly realistic would I not suggest this. The super soft TPE and gel breasts are what I would describe as BETTER than realistic feeling, and the face design and etc. are also better than real, but otherwise I’d suggest this to anyone who wants a high quality, beautiful doll and appreciates the artistic side of this industry.
